Listening Assignments

So I have decided to alter how I am doing these Listening Assignemnts. I will put a post here every time there is one available, but the actual assignment will not be here it will be at this address.

http://listeningassignments.blogspot.com/

You must comment directly to this address so I know you have it done. If you are having trouble just come and ask or ask a friend.

And the second assignment is up on the site now! It should be completed by 11/2/2008.

Thanks and Happy Practicing!

Mr. T

These are very good students and have been practicing under an very stricket teacher. They have the talents of an 10th grader and have to be applauded.

i found it impressive that they could play all of that. there was a lot going on at one time. the first part reminded me of repercussions. and i think that if we practiced more, we would be able to play something like that.

are we supposed to comment directly on the page with the video? There wasn't an anonymous option so i'll comment it here.

I really liked the high voices at the beginning. They all sounded really in tune. The music seemed really challenging for kids our age! But it was very good.
Was this 2 songs or was their just a really long break in the middle? The part after the break was really cool... and exciting.

I'm good at clarinet but i don;t think i would ever master those staccatos at that speed with all the volume changes at the beginning. about halfway through you hear the trilling sound. it was so fast i'm not really sure if it was a trill. I also noticed that the banner in the back is in japanese, and in Japan the students have to go to school everyday so they must get more practice time throughout the week, or even year, then we do.

The song was pretty fast. I liked whenthe flutes were playing by thier self. But at some parts I couldn't understand what was happening. But for their age they played really good!

Hey Mr. Terry, the music listening assignments page isn't working for my comment. So, here is my comment:

Wow. They were very good, especially considering their age. There were tons of kids in the band, which added to thier quality. I also noticed that there was some string bass players, which I had never seen in a big school band like that before. Though they were very good, I felt the songs were borderline boring. This was probably because they did not change dinamics very much or vary the speed. The songs they played were not very pretty either, but they were well played. I liked the variety of intruments as well. They must practice a ton. Oh, and Mr. Terry, please don't make us wear those uniforms.

It is a very high song for the most part. It is a wind band, but there were orchestra instument parts in it too.

Very well played.
It was flowing at the right times. Sounds like A LOT of practice went into this.
I enjoyed the first one more then the second one.

Mr Terry i posted this comment before on time and it didnt show up. Is it late? Anyways I bet we could be just as good as this group, if we practice and work hard at it.
